The Figure in Clay with Mike Lalone The focus of this class will be modeling the human figure in three dimensions. Learn the difference between armature and non-armature related construction. Students will approach the figure by building from the inside out. Muscles and skin are added as we build up fullness on the torso. Arms, legs and head will be modeled and added to the torso. After the figure is complete, we will hollow out overly thick areas to be able to fire the piece. Figures will be from 9 to 12 inches in size. Tools: Tools can range from professional sculpting tools to ga few basic loop and wood carving tools. No need for huge expense. Get a few loop tools for digging out clay, a skewer stick or two, popsicle sticks and we are on our way! Art Center Policy
1. The Art Center reserves the right to cancel classes or camps due to insufficient enrollment. If The Art Center cancels a class or camp, registrants will receive a refund. We reserve the right to substitute an instructor if necessary. 2. The Art Center does not pro-rate class or camp fees. 3. Membership fees are non-refundable. 4. Four business days notice must be given before the start of the first class if you wish to cancel. 5. Registration changes and cancellations will incur an administrative fee of $30. 6. Refunds will be processed within 30 days after the 1st day of the start of class. 6a. For high demand classes: if you cancel your registration and vacate your seat, we will retain 50% of your initial registration fee to pay the instructor, if the seat cannot be filled. This is in addition to the $30 administration fee. 7. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after the beginning of the class or camp. 8. Adult classes and workshops are open to adults 18 and older unless otherwise stated. 9. Children requiring a personal assistant or one-to-one (1:1) support must be accompanied by their direct support professional.
