Summer Serendipity Art Exhibition
Summer 2025
The Art Center is seeking submissions for Summer Serendipity 2025, an annual multi-media art exhibition sponsored by The Arts Center Guild. This juried exhibition, now in its eleventh year, is open to the public. Summer Serendipity is The Arts Center’s largest exhibition each year with more than sixty artists participating from across the Southeast. This exhibition is limited to artists 18 and up. Each participant may enter up to three works for a single, non-refundable entry fee of $40. The first-place winner will receive a $1500 cash award. There are other cash awards and recognitions associated with this exhibition.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR SELECTION
-All artwork must be original creation of the submitting artist
-Eligible media include mixed media, ceramics, drawings, fiber art, printmaking, painting, collage, digital art, photography, and sculpture. Contact the curator with questions about the eligibility of a particular medium.
-2D Work: Maximum framed size is not to exceed 36” x 36” outside dimensions and or weigh more than 25 lbs.
-For the safety of our staff and guests, works on paper should be framed with either acrylic or Plexiglas
- Works must arrive ready to hang with wire appropriate to size, weight, frame type and structure.
-Sawtooth hangers are not recommended for works larger than 16x20 inches.
- Unframed canvases are acceptable if they are back-stapled, edges painted and include hanging wire.
-3D Work: Entries may not exceed 50 lbs. in weight.
-TAC reserves the right to reject any work we feel we cannot hang safely.
-Work submitted must include an identification label on the back which includes artist name, title, and price or NFS.
-Artists receive 75% of the proceeds on all works sold. TAC retains a 25% commission.

High Honors: Middle and High School Art Exhibition
June 20- July 10, 2025
The Art Center is accepting submissions for High Honors, an art competition and exhibition open to middle and high school students in Fulton, Forsyth, DeKalb, and Gwinnett counties. This annual competition is now in its seventh year. The dates for the exhibition are June 20th through July 10th, 2025. All student artists are permitted to enter up to three artworks. Each submitting artist will have at least one work accepted for exhibition. High Honors is a judged competition. Cash awards, ribbons, Art Center Scholarships and other prizes will be awarded. Middle school and High school students are judged separately.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR SELECTION

Each artist is allowed to submit up to 3 images of original works. Send all submissions via email to the curator, Althea Foster at afoster@itstheartcenter.org with High Honors in the subject line.

Acceptable media include painting, digital art, ceramics, mixed media, fiber art, photography, and jewelry. To check on the suitability of a particular medium contact the curator.

All entry files must include: the artist's last name, first name, followed by the title (for example: Smith Sally_Portrait of Fluffy.jpg)

Image files should be in HIGH QUALITY JPEG format.

Title, medium, size, and price for each work entered.

Works may be for sale or not for sale. Artists receive 75% of the selling price of work sold during the exhibition. The Art Center retains 25%.

Works must be ready to hang with either a sawtooth hanger or wire. The Art Center reserves the right to reject works not properly presented.

For safety reasons works must be framed with either plexiglass or acrylic rather than glass.

Artistic Alchemy
The Art Center wants to exhibit your recently created artwork! Our biannual student shows are among our favorite exhibitions as they celebrate the artwork created by our talented Art Center community. Without the support of our students and members the art center could not survive.

Instructions for Participation
This exhibition is open to all current Adult Students and Members of The Art Center. Each participant may enter up to two works. All students and members will have at least one artwork accepted for exhibition. Due to gallery space limitations, we will hang second submissions on a space available basis. As our Art Center and participation in the Student and Member Showcase continues to grow, we can no longer guarantee acceptance of two pieces per student and member.
Submissions may be no larger than 48 inches in any direction. All 2-D work must be ready to hang with either a sawtooth or hanging wire. All works larger than 12×16 inches must be framed with plexiglass or acrylic rather than glass for safety reasons.
Work should be submitted in high quality .jpeg /.jpg image files. Submit images via email to The Art Center Curator, Althea Foster at: afoster@itstheartcenter.org. Subject line: SMS Exhibition. Please include the artist’s name, email address, phone number, title of the work, medium, size, and price or designation that the work is not for sale (NFS) in the body of the email.
Awards
There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place award ribbons and other recognitions associated with the exhibition as well as a People’s Choice Award. There are separate award categories for students and members.
Sales
Artists receive 75% of the sale price. The Art Center retains 25%. Works can also be designated NFS.
