Designed for youngsters in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. These emerging artists, will have fun exploring art through a study of master artists. Students experiment with an array of materials and tools including watercolor and acrylic paints, chalk pastels, and collage. This age appropriate curriculum is based on a playful approach to art; teaching fine art techniques, art history, and building confidence. Instructed by Ms. Izzy! Includes all supplies. This is class for those looking to improve their ability to express ideas through painting in watercolor. It is about taking your personal vision to the next level. What process do you follow when you paint? Do you have a value study or basic idea where the darks are located before you start? Is your subject matter something you are passionate about? What planning goes into your work? What are your future goals for your work? Or do you just need help with technique? This class is intended to address questions like these through discussion, demonstration, studies and painting. So bring a sketchbook and your favorite materials and tools and let’s paint! This class is designed for students with previous pottery wheel experience. Students in this class will explore various forms, surfaces and techniques of throwing on the potters wheel. There will be projects assigned throughout the class, this is a great way for the experienced potter to expand their knowledge of clay. *Included in the price of your class is a 25lb bag of clay as well as 2.5 hours of open studio time per week, to be used immediately following your class. Students may purchase 1 additional bag of clay from The Art Center over the course of the session. For a total of 50lbs maximum per session. Are you wanting to work on drawing skills in graphite or colored pencil? Or would you rather work in scratchboard, pastel or watercolor? Learn something new or brush up on your skills. Portrait, still life or nature whatever interests you. This class is for all levels of experience where you work on a project at your own speed and have fun! A project can be given to you or choose your own to work on in the medium you prefer. Reference material will be supplied if you don’t have your own.

In this class we will be creating both fun and functional pieces using the basics of handbuilding- coil, pinch, and slab. We will also explore different surface decorations such as sgraffito, slip trailing, and wax resist. This class is not project based, so bring your ideas! A contemporary approach to Batik, resulting in stunning fine art for wall hangings or unique wearable scarves. Working on a 22”x22” silk square suspended and stretched on a frame, students will employ a loose, abstract and painterly approach to create whimsical and abstract painterly compositions. Participants may bring a collection of floral photos as reference, or refer to available images provided by the instructor. Absolutely no painting or drawing experience necessary! This is an opportunity for participants to free themselves up to create intuitive, expressive and emotional art on silk. Students should bring paper towels and disposable gloves Supply fee of $25.00 payable to the instructor at the first class. Please note class does NOT meet Sept. 23, 2026 during Fall Break

Improv is the best introduction to the theatre arts for young students. Players will build on their imaginations while they spontaneously create stories, characters, and scenes. Through fun games and exercises, students will learn the essential improv skills of listening, reacting, collaborating with others, and trusting oneself.  Improv nurtures confidence and connection in students.
