Upcoming Exhibition Opportunities for Georgia Artists- Late February and March Deadlines

Taking part in juried exhibitions is an important step in many artists’ careers. It gives you an opportunity to start making connections with galleries, curators, jurors, and other artists. It also gets your work seen by collectors, builds your name in the community, and sometimes even nets you a sale or a ribbon!


The exhibitions you take part in can be put on an artists’ CV, as can any of your awards and recognitions. Proof of past exhibition experience gives you greater credibility in the art world and can help open doors to prestigious opportunities.


Even if you’re not necessarily looking to build a full career in fine art, taking part in juried exhibitions is just fun. You get to see your work on the wall, meet fellow artists, and invite your friends to celebrate your accomplishment. Juried shows also often have themes that can provide a jolt of inspiration for new pieces and keep your portfolio from going stagnant.

Here are a few exhibition opportunities coming up for artists residing in Georgia, both at The Art Center and in the wider community:

 

Upcoming Opportunities At The Art Center


Deadline: February 25

Entry Fee: Free!

Eligible Media: Works created in a class at The Art Center

Exhibition Dates: March 13-April 10

If you’re currently a student or member of The Art Center, we invite you to submit work to our Spring Student and Member Showcase. The theme this year is “Celebration” in honor of our 30th anniversary in the community, so we are seeking work that explores what celebration means to you.

 

Deadline: March 26

Entry Fee: $10 for 3 works

Eligible Media: Anything consisting of 50% or more recycled material

Exhibition Dates: April 20-May 16

In conjunction with Earth Day this year, The Art Center is curating an exhibition of artworks created with recycled and reclaimed materials. We’re looking for work that creatively reuses old materials or things destined for the landfill and transforms them into a thoughtful work of art.

 

Opportunities Outside of The Art Center

 

Deadline: March 3 (Directions), May 19 (Journey), August 18 (Belong)

Entry Fee: Free

Eligible Media: Original artwork that can withstand the elements in an outdoor display. The Art Garden will explore three  themes over the year: Directions, Journey, and Belong.

Exhibition Dates: Varied

 

Deadline: March 7

Entry Fee: $35 for AAC Members, $45 for non-members

Eligible Media: Painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, collage. Must be an original piece, not created in a class or workshop or a recreation of work created by others. No AI.

Exhibition Dates: April 4 – May 19

 

Deadline: March 25

Entry Fee: $12 for 3 works

Eligible Media: Traditional printmaking

Exhibition Dates: April 22 – June 6

 

Deadline: March 30

Entry Fee: $35

Eligible Media: Painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, collage. Must be an original piece, not created in a class or workshop or a recreation of work created by others. No AI.

Exhibition Dates: May 8-July 4

 

Deadline: April 30

Entry Fee: $40

Eligible Media: Work submitted to jury may be plein air or studio, any subject matter, not older than two years, no size restrictions. Please do not digitally enhance images. Submit the best image of your best work..

Competition Dates: October 13-18, must be available on site for the entire show.
