Take Care of Your Holiday Shopping with Unique Gifts from Local Artists at The Art Center

The holiday shopping season has snuck up upon us once again.  As the stuffing and pie settles and the kitchen is brought back into order from Thanksgiving chaos, a new focus emerges. What in the world are we going to give our loved ones this year?

If you want to find something a little more special than the gifts that anyone can find in one of the big box stores or online retailers, small art markets are an ideal solution! Not only will you be supporting hard-working local creators, you’ll be able to find things that aren’t sold anywhere else and enjoy the experience. The vibes at an art market are festive and relaxed, a far cry from the stressful, almost competitive atmosphere of a large store or the impersonal (sometimes misleading) experience of online shopping.

There are many artist markets scheduled this time of year (and we recommend visiting as many of them as you can; they truly are a delightful way to get into the holiday spirit), and The Art Center is hosting its own, too!

Join us on Saturday December 6 between the hours of 11 am and 4 pm to find amazing gifts at our one-day-only Holiday Pop-Up Market! We are filling The Art Center with local artists (some of them our own teachers and students!) who will have their work available for sale. Sip complementary hot chocolate and browse handcrafted goods (including jewelry, ceramics, illustration, and baked goods) from people who pour love and care into everything they make. You’ll get to meet and talk with the creators to learn the stories behind their work, and you can pass along these stories with the gift for an extra-special experience!
